Due to a staggering rate of growth a specialist 3PL are recruiting a Transport Manager to be based at their site in London. On offer is a salary of up to ;pound;35,000. They are not looking for an old fashioned Transport Manager they want a dynamic transport professional who can lead the way.

Reporting to the site manager you will be responsible for 20 drivers running circa 18 multi drops routes within the M25 corridor. You will be responsible for ensuring that the day-to-day transport operation consistently meets its required targets as well as budgetary and financial goals. Working as part of the senior management team you will be involved in strategic developments of the site. You will be able to lead a team and have proven track record in developing employees.

You will be expected to be both Customer and Company focused with a proactive approach as well as being able to handle and implement new ideas whilst delivering depot excellence.

In order to apply you must be able to demonstrate relevant management experience in either a 3PL or fast moving transport operation and be familiar with computerised routing systems. A CPC is a prerequisite for this position and you will need to have an excellent knowledge of fleet compliance and driver legislation. It is also essential that you have a strong financial awareness with previous experience of managing budgets and financial controls.

The Role

You'll ensure transport operations comply with O Licence requirements and ensure CPC holders follow company guidelines within the sites you are responsible for. You will agree annual budgets for each site in your territory, setting required productivity targets. Imperative to the role will include scheduling, supervising and monitoring the delivery of transport operations in the region to meet agreed service levels within target costs, and resolving operational issues.
